Karoline Leavitt has stirred up talk with her "Republican makeup" trend, getting both cheers and jeers over her beauty tips.
The White House press secretary revealed her secrets to stunning looks with her Instagram admirers through a throwback video – first shared in 2023. The clip has since been unearthed and is gaining attention, earning Karoline plenty of compliments in the comment section for her appearance.
Unfortunately for 27-year-old Karoline, naysayers are also having a laugh over the brief social media video which displays her putting on her makeup to the tune of Lil Boo Thang by Paul Russell. Sporting a beige top and her fair hair pinned up, she demonstrated a bundle of products as she spruced up for a television slot.
She equipped herself with a variety of Too Faced beauty items, including primer, dual foundations, eyeshadow palette, brow pomade, and mascara to ready her face for an interview. Afterward, she swapped into a wine-colored faux leather dress and let her mid-length locks flow for a sleek finish.

Karoline summed up her post with a caption stating: "MY TV MAKEUP ROUTINE. I receive a lot of questions about how I do my makeup when I go on TV… so I figured I'd show it! Here's the look I did for a hit on Fox Business… in my New York City hotel room at literally 4AM," reports the Mirror US.
"I can't take all of the credit because when I arrive at the networks, the amazing hair and makeup teams provide touch ups. However most of the time, I do interviews from my home studio and I'm my own glam team!"
One social media user criticized the look, writing: "Watching this now, with Republican makeup finally being called out and it fitting the mold of that awful early 2000s perfectly is beyond hilarious," while another agreed, stating "[Very] Republican makeup."
For those curious about what "Republican makeup" entails, TikToker Suzanne Lambert initiated the trend by posting a video in which she mocked Republican women who left negative comments on her posts. In the video, she intentionally mismatched her foundation to her skin tone.
Beauty expert Luna Viola spoke to The List about another error she believed Karoline made with her makeup. She stated: "The contour stick used in the video appears to be unnecessarily dark. When applied under the cheekbones, it is slightly too low, dragging the cheekbones down and resulting in an unnatural placement."
Karoline recently shared details about how she met her husband Nicolas Riccio, who is 32 years her senior. The White House press secretary got married in January, just days before President Trump's second inauguration, appearing joyfully content next to her 59-year-old husband.
Karoline, the youngest-ever White House press secretary, took to Instagram on March 12 to share a collection of photos from her wedding day. She captioned the heartfelt post with: "Finally found some time to post a few of my favorite pictures from one of my favorite days!"
