Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter will stop consulting on law enforcement topics through his privately-owned firm after a county ethics board found the overlap between that work and his role as an elected official could create “public confusion” and the appearance of a conflict of interest.
The board stopped short, however, of finding Baxter in violation of the county’s ethics code.
