Onslow County launches new platform to streamline public records requests for residents – WCTI

Onslow County has partnered with CivicPlus to introduce NextRequest, a web-based application aimed at simplifying and modernizing public records management. Officials say the platform allows residents to submit public records requests, track their status, and access records through an online portal at www.OnslowCountyNC.gov/PublicRecords. The automated process is designed to enable staff to provide timely responses.
Timothy Foster, chairman of the Onslow County Board of Commissioners, emphasized the county's dedication to transparency. "Onslow County is dedicated to keeping the community informed and involved. Modernizing our public records fulfillment process ensures that we continue to build public trust through openness and accountability."
The launch of NextRequest aligns with Onslow County's commitment to a High Performing Government as outlined in its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.
