PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Over 100 violent offenders are behind bars after a Federal Bureau of Investigation operation across Arizona this month.
The FBI’s Phoenix Desert Hawk Fugitive Task Force carried out “Operation Can’t Beat the Heat” from Aug. 10 to Aug. 21.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 121 violent fugitives, the FBI Phoenix Field Office said.
“This fugitive operation has demonstrated what is possible when law enforcement works together with a shared commitment to public safety,” said Rebecca Day, special agent in charge of the FBI Phoenix Field Office. “We are grateful to every partner who contributed time, expertise and resources. The close collaboration removed dangerous criminals from our streets, supported victims and made Arizona neighborhoods safer.”
Those arrested include violent offenders, child sex offenders, fugitives with weapons violations and gang members.
Several local, state and federal agencies assisted the FBI in its operation.
