Alignment Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALHC) ALHC (NASDAQ:ALHC) is currently under scrutiny by law firm Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP following a whistleblower complaint alleging accounting misconduct. A former executive claims the company misclassified millions in operating expenses as capital expenditures, inflating critical financial metrics. This revelation caused ALHC shares to drop significantly, sparking investor concerns over the reliability of the company’s previously reported financial data.
The whistleblower complaint, filed by a former Alignment Healthcare executive, alleges the company engaged in “accounting irregularities” that “artificially inflated” both reported and projected financial figures. The focus is on Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP metric central to the company’s financial reporting and executive compensation. According to the complaint, “millions of dollars in operating expenses had been systematically misclassified as capital expenditures,” as detailed in the announcement. Alignment Healthcare has yet to issue a public statement regarding these allegations.
Following the whistleblower’s claims, Alignment Healthcare shares experienced a steep decline. On July 8, 2026, ALHC stock dropped $4.02 per share, or 16.7%, closing at $20.03. The longer-term impact on the stock price remains unclear based on publicly available information. This significant one-day drop is likely to attract attention from both institutional and retail investors, especially given the allegations relate to financial metrics tied to executive pay.
Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP, a New York-based law firm established in 1956 and recognized nationally for securities litigation, is conducting an investigation into potential securities violations by Alignment Healthcare.
