KENTUCKY (WKYT) – AG Russell Coleman announced that a guilty plea was secured in relation with a 2025 sex abuse case.
Former corrections officer Ladonis Mayfield, 32, was arrested after accusations of sodomizing an inmate under his supervision twice in the same day, the AG’s Office says.
The AG’s Office says that Mayfield pleaded guilty to two counts of third degree sodomy and one count of first degree official misconduct.
As part of his guilty plea, Mayfield will receive a three-year sentence and must complete the sex offender treatment program while in custody, according to the AG’s Office.
Mayfield’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 26.
After his release, Mayfield will be subject to five years of post-incarceration supervision and will be required to register as a lifetime sex offender, the AG’s office says.
